SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar Saturday said that the health of masses is the primary concern of the divisional administration and there will be no compromise on the issue, come what may or whosoever will be involved in malpractices of adulteration of food stuff will not be spared and stern action shall be initiated against adulterers under law.
Kumar was addressing an officers meeting here today, convened to take stock of the situation, arising out of complaints against some manufacturers of food stuff of Valley. He directed Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities to get full details of the samples already analysed.
The meeting was attended by District Magistrate (Deputy Commissioner) Srinagar, Er. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Health Officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. Shafqat, Drug Controller, Food Analyst and representatives of various private companies, operating in Valley.
The meeting decided that the Committee already framed shall continue to lift four samples of various food stuffs from different places and shall confidentially sent them to various reputed labs of the country for testing and accordingly on obtaining the results, further action will be taken in the matter, as per Food Safety and Standard Act.
Divisional Commissioner directed SMC authorities to create a window in their website for publicising the details of samples collected and the results thereof.
