Srinagar: Kashmirs grand mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-din has condemned Chief Minister Omar Abdullahs recent remarks about gay marriage, terming them shameful.
Mufti, according to Kashmir News Service, while reacting to Omars tweet that questions of morality and or religion are not the issue, how can a life style choice be illegal?, said that Omar should think twice before making any comment that disregards the principles laid by the Prophet of Islam (SAW).
The gay sex marriage is an unnatural offence in Islam and it is worthy of condemnation and punishment, said Kashmirs grand Mufti while adding that Omars remarks about the issue are shameful as he is a Muslim and rules a Muslim majority state.
He further stated that the rise and the fall of every nation is based on the grounds of morality and that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should introspect about his comments on gay marriages.
