BANDIPORE: Police on Wednesday evening arrested personnel security officer (PSO) of opposition Peoples Democratic Party MLA hours after he allegedly shot at and injured two Congress activists here.
Official sources said that police arrested Altaf Ahmad Baba, PSO of Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, the PDP MLA from Bandipore after information that the attack on two activists was carried out by him.
Earlier, at around 7:15 p.m Wednesday evening, Mudasir Ahmad Baba (24) son of Abdul Majeed Baba and Majeed Amad Khan (30) son of Abdul Gani Khan both activists of Youth National Congress were injured after fired upon near hospital road at Panzigam Barzulla in Bandipore.
Both the injured persons were immediately rushed to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar where the condition of Majeed Khan was stated to be critical.
Earlier the initial reports suggested that the injured duo were activists of ruling National Conference (NC). (GNS)
