JAMMU- The last Haj flight arrived at Srinagar International Airport on November 6th as Hajj 2013 culminated. As many as 8691 pilgrims from J&K State had left to perform Haj this year. All but seven returned home safely.
Hajj commenced on September 7th and ended on 23rd of the month.
The return phase of the Haj culminated in the equal number of days on November 6th, 2013 with the arrival of last Haj flight at Srinagar International Airport.
Out of 8691 pilgrims, 7 pilgrims passed away during the holy journey, of them one was buried in Madina Munawarah, 5 were buried in Makkah Mukaramah and one in Jeddah.
These include Abdul Gaffar of Kupwara (JKR-4641-2-0) Madinah, Bakhti Begum W/o Mohammad Shaban of Baramulla (JKF-4747-4-0) Makkah, Mukhti Bano W/o Mohammad Abdullah of Shopian (JKR-5417-4-0) Makkah, Ghulam Mohiudin of Budgam (JKF-9422-2-0 ) Makkah, Sabza Bibi W/o Mohammad Alam of Rajouri (JKF-9925-2-0) Makkah, Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Pulwama (JKR-10100-2-0) Makkah and Aisha W/o Assadullah of Pulwama (JKR-1277-2-0) Jeddah.
Aisha died at Jeddah airport minutes before boarding her flight home.
Another woman pilgrim Mugli Begum W/o Abdul Salam registered under Cover No.JKR-4535-3-0 is under treatment in a Saudi hospital. The pilgrim and her husband shall return once she recovers and is fit to travel. All other pilgrims reached home safely.
Overall 150 pilgrims from India died during 2013-Hajj pilgrimage.
