SRINAGAR: Distinguished Papier mâché artist and poet Mirza Muhammad Sualeh Beigh passed away here today. He was 76.
Sualeh, born in Srinagar’s historic Khanqah-e-Maula quarter in the family of artisans was renowned for his craftsmanship. He has trained hundreds in unique Papier mâché art. Sualeh was also a poet and wrote famous Nauhas in the past.
He was father of noted artist Arshad Sualeh and Dr Sajjad Sualeh.
Meanwhile family sources said the Fateha Khwani will be held on September 7 at their ancestral graveyard situated at Madeen Sahib followed by a day long condolence meeting at their Alamgiribazar residence.
