SRINAGAR: The working hours of all government departments in the Kashmir Valley have been changed from Friday.
The revised working hours in all government offices and institutions, except schools, will be 10:30am to 4:30pm with effect from Friday, an official spokesman said quoting a circular from the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
The timings would remain in force till March 31 next year, he said. Earlier, the working hours in government offices was 10am to 4pm.
The revised school timings for both government and recognised private schools within the Srinagar Municipal limits will be 10 am to 3 pm, said Director of School Education Kashmir in a statement. The timing for schools within Srinagar municipal limits was 9am to 2pm and for educational institutions outside it was 10am to 3pm. The timings for educational institutions outside Srinagar Municipal limits has been changed to 11am to 4pm, it said.
The head of departments, offices, institutions and schools will ensure strict adherence of the office timings, the spokesman said.
State government changes the timing of the offices and educational institutions every year with the onset of winter in the Valley. The timings are changed again in April when the winter ends.
