BARAMULLA: Police Sunday claimed that it arrested a Jaish-e- Muhammad militant in Baramulla district and recovered a pistol from him.
A police official said that after receiving inputs from their sources, police party laid a naka in Khawja Bagh area of Baramulla town. The police party stopped a person and during frisking a pistol and 7 live rounds were recovered from him.
The militant identified as Javid Ahmed Dar son of Late Muhammad Akbar Dar belongs to militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad, police official said.
An FIR vide 366/2013 under section 7/25 of Arms Act has been registered against the youth.
