Srinagar: Censuring Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal the Additional Secretary of National Conference (NC) for his recent statement that Army has helped Congress to win elections in Jammu and Kashmir Congress today warned national Conference that such statements could cause problems for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and things may take ugly turn anytime.
In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service, senior vice president of Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Muzaffar Parray said Kamal is in the unstable state of mind due to which statements against Congress are being issued form his desk.
It is most surprising that instead of appreciating the constructive role of Congress party in facilitating Late Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir state in 1975, which is a reflection of clarity, sincerity, self denial, and selflessness of Congress Party, he (Kamal) continues to abuse Congress Party.
Parray further accused Kamal of tarnishing the image of Congress and army. Kamal has stated that the Congress wants to capture power in J&K by hook or crook simultaneously he has tried to tarnish the image of Indian Army by saying that it (Army) helped the Congress Party in 2002 to 2008 polls. Suffice it to say that through such silly and irresponsible statements, he creates problems for his nephew (Omar Abdullah).
In his statement issued today, Parray has further asked NC to keep watch on the statements of Kamal and to advice him to be in the bounds of discipline.
The fact remains that people from all the three regions have understood the hollow and tall claims of NC, so are parting with it to find a welcome refuge in Congress which has never right from 1947 changed its stance. It is because of principled politics of Congress that people are drawn towards its philosophy in thousands. This has created fear psychosis for Mr. Kamal, so in utter desperation he undertakes these ugly drills and exercises. It was imperative for the NC leadership to have stopped Dr. Mustafa Kamal for this biting criticism against Congress; but unfortunately they have failed to do so, reads the statement.
Parray further claimed that Kamal has not paid a single visit to his Hazartbal constituency from the last five years. He has started tasting resentment of the people in that area. He will soon realize that he has become a liability for Mr. Omar Abdullah, to say the least.
