SRINAGAR: The Principal Sessions court Shopian Monday sentenced three murder convicts to rigorous life imprisonment with fine of Rs. 50,000. The three convicts, including a father and son duo were convicted of murdering a person when he was offering Azaan in 2007.
The court of sentenced three convicts Abdul Rashid Wani, Sajad Ahmad Wani both residents of Heerpora, Shopian and Rafiq Takad of Rajouri to rigorous life imprisonment with fine of Rs. 50,000 for murdering Muezin Yaseen Wani a resident of Heerpora, Shopian in 2007.
The trio were convicted on Tuesday and the argument for the verdict was held on Thursday. The prosecution succeeded in establishing the charge of 302/RPC read with 34 RPC against all the accused. The court heard the prosecution and the defense in the murder case FIR number 92/2007 under section 302, 34 RPC of police station Shopian.
