‘What Happened to Letter You Sent to PM On Guru?’

Rashid flays NC-PDP role on VK Singh’s issue

SRINAGAR: Independent MLA Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid today demanded explanation from ruling National Conference and opposition PDP about the fate of letters they had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting the return of body of Afzal Guru to Kashmir.

MLA criticized these parties ‘for playing safe and trying to befool people over VK Singh’s issue’.

Speaking in the state assembly today he said that the way National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party were passing the buck showed clear frustration on their part and were more eager and keen to escape their skin rather than ensuring that the whole revelations made by VK Singh Should be probed thoroughly.

In a statement issued today, Er Rashid said that the frustration shown and logic less arguments given by the members of various political parties were enough to prove that what VK Singh has said carries a weight and Ghulam Hassan Mir is not the only person who is involved in the dirty business but VK Singh seems to be telling truth by saying that almost all the ministers right from 1947 have been on the pay roll of agencies.

Er Rashid said. “The denial by members of various parties of not taking money but not showing proper concern to investigate the whole story, vindicates the stand of separatists that ‘mainstream parties are puppets of New Delhi’ and the hue and cry made by NC and PDP is just an eye wash and a desperate attempt to give a notion that they are very much worried about VK Singh’s revelations.

Let me remind PDP how they can deny the role of army in growing mainstream parties and individuals under their patronage as PDP cannot deny that Usmaan Majeed a close associate of army and a renegade was a cabinet minister in Mufti Sahib’s government and as such role of army was evident in ensuring that their own men find space in the political spectrum irrespective of the fact who rules the state.

Same was the case with NC who made couple of renegades as MLCs just to ensure that they continue to enjoy hidden wishes and blessings of the army. NC stands equally exposed when speaker and law minister were speaking in two different tunes over the summoning of Gen. VK Singh to assembly as one was trying to act on the dictation of New Delhi and another trying to befool people and improve NC’s eroded image.

Congress legislatures as usual preferred to keep mum and tried to eat the cake and have it too.” He asked Jammu based MLAs to read writing on the wall and confess that state of India needs to pay illegal money through back doors in order to keep few puppets with it so that they can cry for India and act like announcers and producers to telecast and broadcast serials directed and scripted by New Delhi itself.

It is not VK Singh who has eroded the credibility of legislatures but the elected honorable themselves who have allowed New Delhi to use them like tissue papers for just getting some petty benefits thus have let down their people completely and miserably. Er Rashid asked mainstream parties not to play in the hands of New Delhi as the incident is yet another proof that India is every immoral act to weaken the ongoing indigenous resistance movement in Kashmir by bribing the politicians to serve India’s interest.
