SRINAGAR: Legislative Assembly Speaker, Mubarak Gul Tuesday clarified that due to time constraint anti-liquor bill submitted by PDP legislator from Lolab constituency could not be tabled in the House on Monday.
A section of print media has carried the report that anti-liquor Bill was intentionally shelved in the House which is not correct. There was time constraint and the Bill could not be tabled for discussion, Gul informed the House.
Meanwhile, during the Assembly proceedings, Abdul Haq blamed Higher Education Minister, Muhammad Akbar Lone for sabotaging the Bill. Lone reacted sharply and termed the allegations baseless. Both the legislators had heated exchange of arguments.
Lone labelled Haq as the Chief Commander of erstwhile Al-Barq militant outfit.
