SRINAGAR: Groupism in State Congress Party has once again come to fore as scores of Azad loyalist Monday alleged that the Soz lobby did not allow them to speak during the JKPCC Convention and most of the Congress members belonging to Azad Group were even not allowed to enter the Convention Hall.
Who told you that groupism has come to an end. I was aghast to see Congress members fighting with each other in full public glare. Even the Union Health Minister and Ambika Soni realized that all is not well in party, Secretary PCC, Muhammad Sultan Mandoo said.
Senior Congress leader, Surinder Singh Chini said that he was not allowed to speak during the convention just because he is Azad loyalist. Amoung the 32 speakers, only two Azad loyalists, Muhammad Amin Bhat and Abdul Gani Vakil were allowed to speak during the convention, he said adding that Soz lobby was hell-bent to keep the Azad loyalists at bay during the function.
Another Congress leader on condition of anonymity said that infighting in Congress has marred the party. Taj-Monga episode sent wrong signal and it was now widely believed that Congress party would lose ground in Jammu and Kashmir if infighting and lobbyism would not come to an end, he said adding that mudslinging in open has become a routine for the Congress leaders now.
