SRINAGAR: A 23-year-old youth who was injured in brutal attack by a non-local labourer in Hakura area of Anantnag district last week succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday at SKIMS, Soura.
A police spokesman said that Bilal Ahmed Dar son of Muhammad Ramzan Dar resident of Hakura, Anantnag was stabbed by a non-local (Bihari) Muhammad Shamsher Sheikh resident of Loltitgram, Bihar on September 11 last week. He however did not divulge the motive behind the attack.
Another youth Momin Yousuf had also sustained injuries in the fight between Bilal and Shamsher, the spokesman said, adding that police has registered a case under section 302 crpc against Shamsher and he has been arrested.
Soon after the news of Bilals death reached Hakura, people took to streets and demanded stern action against the culprit.
