Srinagar: Militant outfit, Hizbul Mujhideen Tuesday claimed that former Hizb militant Shabir Ahmed Mir alias Shaheed-ul-Islam was killed by Indian troopers at his residence in Jamangari Shopian.
This act of Indian forces is condemnable. Shaheed-ul-Islam was an active militant till 2005, however after his release from Indian prison in 2009, he left the outfit on account of his frail health, Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi said in a statement issued to CNS.
The outfit meanwhile paid a rich tribute to Shaheed Ajaz Ahmed Dar and said that Dar was the one of the front row militants who for sake of Kashmir freedom struggle attained martyrdom on Sep 18, 1988. His martyrdom showed new path to the people of Kashmir and instilled new zeal in them. The outfit would continue to pursue his goal and would take the freedom struggle of Kashmir to its logical end, the statement reads.
