Srinagar: A mental health gap training programme was successfully launched at Regional Institute of Health and Family welfare Dhobiwan today.
This programme has been launched first time in India and a team of 14 specialists, WHO validated trainers from UK have been deputed by Royal College of Psychiatry London to train primary care physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, NGOs, teachers and police personals.
The programme was conceptualised by Dr Sayed Aqeel Hussain, member of Royal College of Psychiatry, London and Coordinator of this programme at international level.
Dr Hussain was supported by Dr Muzaffar, Director, Police De-addiction Services at state level.
This programme received technical assistance and support from WHO Geneva and was locally sponsored and supported by Help foundation j&K, J&K Bank, J&K Police, Action Aid India and TCI Cements.
