SRINAGAR : Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani today extended strike call for two more days saying Shopian killings, mysterious death of former militant commander Abdul Rashid Gazi and unabated killings of innocent youth by Govt forces were unacceptable.
According to Hurriyat spokesman, a complete shutdown will be observed on September 14 and 15 to send a clear message to the international community that the struggle for withdrawal of Indian forces will continue till nation achieves freedom.
Terming forced occupation of India the main reason for the present situation, spokesman quoting Geelani said, Now is the time for decisive fight and all of us should come forward to make an end to this forced occupation. Let people snap their ties with all pro-occupation political parties.
In his appeal to people Geelani has appealed people to stage protest demonstrations after Friday prayers against the recent killings. He has also requested people to safeguard the honour, propriety and places of worship of minority communities including Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindu and Christians. It is our religious duty to take care of these communities.
