SRINAGAR: Four persons died on the spot and two others were injured in a road accident on Thursday near Zaznar area on Mughal Road in the Shopian district.
According to details, a passenger vehicle, with six passengers on board, was on its way to Shopian from Rajouri when it met with an accident.
A Police spokesperson said that a passenger vehicle, bearing registration number JK011A 0585, fell into river at Zaznar when driver Shakeel Ahmed lost his control over the vehicle.
The victims, who died on spot were identified as Sher Ali son of Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Junaid, son of Wazir Hussain, Muhammad Azhar-ud-din, son of Muhammad Ashraf. The fourth one was not identified. They all were residents of Thana Mandi, Rajouri.
Two persons who were injured in the incident were admitted in Sub-district hospital Shopian and were identified as Rameez Ahmed son of Muhammad Yousuf resident of Shopian and driver Shakeel Ahmed son of Barkat Hussain resident of Thana Mandi, Rajouri.
