SRINAGAR: Calling for a day long strike to protest fresh killing in Shopian, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday announced that it would soon issue a white paper after the relevant details are collected about the recent Shopian tragedy.
In a statement today Syed Ali Geelani said that Hurriyat Conference called for a protest shutdown on Thursday against the killing of another civilian by paramilitary CRPF in south Kashmirs Shopian district on Wednesday.
Geelani appealed the people including traders, transporters and shopkeepers in Kashmir and Chenab valley to observe complete strike against the killing.
Geelani said Hurriyat would prove with substantiate evidences that the police version on killing of fourth civilian last Saturday was a brazen lie and a plant storey.
The report would be submitted to UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon and the leading organizations working for human rights, added Syed Ali Geelani
Refuting police version and terming it a fabricated story Geelani said there is not an iota of truth in it, and added the police statement with respect to a non state laborer is a blatant lie and said Hurriyat Conference is seriously looking into the matter and findings would be made public.
Geelani said that the police statement aims at to deviate the attention from the said gruesome incident and unfounded and baseless stories are being floated.
Geelani called on people to maintain mutual brotherhood and warned that some people for their ulterior motives were trying to create misunderstanding between Muslim and Sikh communities. Minorities are sacred trust and it is our religious duty to protect them, said Geelani
