SRINAGAR: With no respite from attacks by stray wild animals, a 30-year-old man was critically injured when he fell victim to attack by a bear in South Kashmir.
Police said that Mushtaq Ahmed Parray was attacked by a bear after he was creeping grass in his apple orchard at Akoora village in South Kashmirs Anantnag district.
He said Mushtaqs hue and cry grabbed the attention of locals who rescued him from black bear in grave condition and shifted him to district hospital Anantnag where his condition is said to be critical.
Bears are wandering in the apple orchards and people can’t move there for work. We request administration to take necessary steps at earliest to safeguard our lives, Adil Ahmed Bhat, a local resident said.
