Health Club, Swimming Pool at Kongposh Opened

SRINAGAR- Minister for Tourism, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir today laid foundation of Swimming Pool and inaugurated health club at Kongposh Hotel of JKTDC.

The construction work of Swimming pool would be completed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh by JKTDC while as the health club in the premises of Kongposh Hotel, TRC was set up at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh by the cent percent funding of Bharatport India Pvt Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, the Tourism Minister said that JKTDC is aiming to give health club all the facilities under one roof , which includes swimming, sauna, stream, sapa and aerobics. He said the construction work on of swimming pool has been started and is expected to be made operational for public in the next summer. He said this would upgrade the star rating of newly constructed Hotel Kongposh which in-houses 42 rooms.

Mr. Mir said that health clubs equipped with all the latest machinery and is mainly concerned with the cardio fitness and loss of weight /cholesterol which is the burning health problem being faced by the majority of the people in the valley. He said in addition to this, periodical check-up of the participants would be done by valleys best doctors in order to keep a check over the improvement of the members at the health club. He said moreover, separate timing / trainer would be available for lady members. He said the club would be the biggest among all in the city and will be extended further in the nearest future which would include Sauna and steam bath areas.
