SRINAGAR: International media which, is here to cover the Zubin Mehta musical concert were seen making rounds of Syed Ali Geelanis residence on Friday.
A large number of journalists, who landed in Srinagar made it a point to visit Geelani who is opposing concert saying any international event in Kashmir will dilute its disputed nature.
Many journalists said they were shocked to learn about continous detention of the octogenarian leader.
Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar described the visits a blessing in disguise. He said that the ball thrown to the wall by India is rebounding towards them (Hurriyat G). At least Geelani sahib was able to present his view point. Geelani Sahab had a detailed conversation with them and he presented the facts about Kashmir in an eloquent way, Akbar said.
“Media men from newspapers and broadcasting organization of international repute including New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, National Radio of USA and German television in their interview with Geelani sahib asked about the latest developments and his stand with respect to Kashmir issue and music concert organized by German embassy, Akbar said.
