Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik Monday said that peace can never be established in vacuum nor does it come with rhetoric and cosmetic measures.
War like situation on ceasefire line is actually teasing the criminal silence of the world, he said while addressing public gatherings in Hom Shali Bugh area on Anantnag.
Malik said that enthusiasm and passion for freedom is welcome but we all have to keep this flame burning in our hearts and soul. India and Pakistan fought wars in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999 (Kargil) because of Kashmir dispute. These wars consumed thousands of human lives from both sides. And this continued war like situation has jeopardized the peace, prosperity and stability of this whole region, he said.
Kashmiris too lost lakhs of their loved ones and continue to be suffering because of this dispute. It was necessary for the world community to realize and rise to the occasion and try to solve this issue endangering not only the peace of south Asia but as a nuclear flash point threatening the peace of the whole world also, he added.
The JKLF chairman said that ironically world chose the attitude of ignorance and acted like some football match referee, who only tries to diffuse current tension in the ground and watches the game as a spectator. Presently India and Pakistan are again engaged in a war like situation and world community is again playing its ignorant role.
India and Pakistani military is bombing each other, taking human lives and because of this hundreds of villages on cease fire line have been evacuated making thousands of Kashmiris homeless, he said.
Malik said that Kashmiris today want to ask from the world, why are they criminally silent. Why dont they realize that without solving Jammu Kashmir dispute they will never be able to secure peace between India and Pakistan? Malik asked and said that sermons and rhetoric can never achieve any thing and peace is not established in vacuum.
World has to solve the issues and disputes that are constantly threatening the peace and stability of the world. No saner person can ignore the fact that Kashmir is the core issue that is endangering the peace and stability of sub continent and without solving this dispute one cannot dream of a lasting peace and stable south Asia. India,
Pakistan and world has to accept the owner status of Kashmiris and include them in the process related to the resolution of this dispute.
That is the only way peace, prosperity and stability of this region can be established and ensured, he added.
According to a statement of JKLF the enthusiasm and love for freedom of the common Kashmiri was evident on the streets of Hom Shali Bugh as men, women, elderly and young joined the caravan of Azadi led by Malik from Frisal to Yaripora.
On arrival at Frisal, Malik and his delegation was accorded a historical welcome. Women came out of their houses singing traditional Kashmiri folk song, showering sweets, flower petals and Sheerni on Malik and his caravan.
