SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 02: The meeting of Departmental Related Standing Committee (DRSC-I) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC, Mr. Bashir Ahmed Magrey to review the working of Hospitality and Protocol Department.
Legislators, Mr. Ghulam Qadir Pardesi, Shawkat Hussain Ganai and Dr. Shahnaz Ganai attended the meeting.
Discussion was held on state property situated outside the State with details, including New Delhi (5-Prithvi Raj Road, Chankyapuri and Rajaji Marg), Mumbai, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Sirsa (Haryana) and the measures taken by the State government to save and retrieve the state property from encroachers.
The Committee was apprised that the State government has initiated various steps to retrieve the state properties from illegal occupants in Mumbai, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Sirsa.
The Committee also discussed measures taken by the Department for providing accommodation, transportation and mess facilities to the Legislators when they are at tour outside the State.
Principal Secretary, Hospitality and Protocol, Mr B. B. Vyas gave brief account of the activities of the Department, besides measures taken by the department for saving state property outside the State.
Principal Resident Commissioner, JK House, New Delhi, Mr. K. B. Aggarwal, Director, Hospitality & Protocol Department, Mr. S. S. Jamwal, Additional Secretary, Legislative Council, Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, besides officers and officials of H&P and Council Secretariat attended the meeting.
