Srinagar: Terming people of Kashmir as politically mature to distinguish between mainstream and pro-freedom groups Chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah Kashmiris are keen observers of each and everything that takes place here.
Kashmiri people know that India by the might of force made Kashmiris slave against their wishes in 1947. They also know how many lives they sacrificed against forced rule of India and how much brutalities they tolerated, Shah in a statement said, adding, they (Kashmiris) also understand that government by arresting pro-freedom leaders is trying to suppress the freedom movement.
Shah said Kashmiris also understand that those parties involved in election politics are strengthening the imperialistic propagandas of India under the garb of democracy. They also know who were behind the communal clashes that erupted in Gool, Ramban and Kishtwar and how current government targeted Muslims by adopting partial approach.
Applauding the political intellect of Kashmiris, Shah said whenever situation turned worse for movement; they (Kashmiris) sacrificed their everything for its sake. The people of Kashmir will never prefer road developments, park developments and music concerts over freedom.
Meanwhile, Shah greeted Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani on being re-elected as Chairman Hurriyat Conference, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Muhammad Abdullah Wani on being elected Ameer-e-Jamaat and Jamiat Ahle Hadith President Ghulam Muhammad Bhat Madni on becoming the president of Jamiat. He also hoped the leaders of all these organizations will lead the nation according to Quran and Sunnah.
The party spokesperson in a statement said Shabir Ahmad Shah will visit Gool Ramban, Chenab Valley, Jammu, Rajouri and Pooch this month, to remove the misconceptions and controversies that were created between various committees in recent past.
