SRINAGAR: To create awareness and awakening the people about the ill impacts of female foeticide, a symposium was held on Save the girl child at Government College for Women, Nawakadal, Srinagar today.
The symposium was organised in collaboration with National Rural Health Mission.
Speaking on the occasion, the students who participated in the symposium highlighted the role of a girl child in shaping the society, besides their role in the socio-economic and cultural development.
Cash prizes of Rs. 2500, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1500 were distributed among the first 3 position holders besides Rs. 500 each were given as consolation prises to the 3 students on the occasion.
