Srinagar: Terming police highhandedness as the main reason behind prevailing situation in South Kashmirs Shopian town, senior resistance leader and National Front Chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan has demanded an immediate and unconditional release of all the arrested youth in the town.
In fact, the men in uniform have created such a situation where civil administration is invisible, Khan in a statement on Friday said.
He said that denying the right to protest to Kashmiris results in such tension and chaos. If men in uniform are interested in normalcy of the town, they must release all the arrested youth and make it sure that no highhandedness takes place in the name of law and order, Khan said, adding, the activities of pro-India parties have added fire to the fuel resulting in complete shutdown after just a days normalcy.
National Front Chairman in a statement expressed anguish over the reports that the activists of pro-India politics first manage the arrests of the youth and later come forward on different names to get them released. This is the height of hypocrisy.
The senior pro-freedom leader Khan also condemned the arrests in Baramulla and Palhalan areas. India must realize the fact that Kashmir dispute can only be settled by the fulfillment of the wishes of Kashmiris so it must rein its collaborators like police in Jammu and Kashmir, Nayeem added.
