Srinagar: A 21-year-old girl (name withheld) from housing colony Ompora, Budgam was found hanging at her home while a laborer was killed after being hit by a landslide while working at an excavation site in South Kashmirs Pulwama district on Wednesday.
A police official said that Ompora girl was found hanging inside her house.
The body was sent to police hospital for postmortem report and was later handed to her relatives for last rites, the official said, adding that police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
He also said that a laborer Mushtaq Ahmad Deedad (25) son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Khalidora, Achagosa, Pulwama was buried alive under mud after a landslide hit a soil excavating site. He died on the spot, the official said, adding the body was retrieved and handed over to his relatives for last rites.
