Srinagar: Businesses resumed as markets re-opened in the Kashmir valley after Eid break and two day strike period announced by the Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Saturday and Sunday.
Shops and business establishments opened and traffic plied on all routes. Both factions of the Hurriyat and other like-minded groups are demanding an impartial probe in Kishtwar communal clashes that left three persons dead and dozens others injured. Similar reports were also received from other parts of the valley.
Usually people in the Valley used to celebrate celebrating Eid for two days and resume the normal activities on third day. However, this time the third day of Eid was Sunday providing an extra day, particularly to children who visited parks and gardens yesterday.
All educational institutions reopened this morning after three days holiday.
After three days of much-needed relief, the traffic police personnel were again on their toes, regulating traffic on busy routes, which were flooded with vehicles.
