Srinagar: Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah Monday visited the residence of Fatima at Dadina Budgam who fell victim to police brutality and succumbed to her injuries at SKIMS Soura few days ago.
In a statement a spokesperson of the DFP said, Shah while expressing grief over her death condemned the Police action against Fatima. Police instead of acting as guardian of lives and properties of people are hell bent upon killing them mercilessly. By killing Shaheed Fatima, Police has committed an unpardonable crime and the ex-gratia offered to her family is ridiculous.
Shah expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family. He was accompanied by Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Yasin Ataai, Ghulam Muhammad Muqdam, Fida Hussain, Abdul Rashid and others activists.
Shah advised people to remain vigilant over the designs of elements trying to create wedge between Shia and Sunni Muslims. Shia-Sunni confrontation is neither in favor of Shias nor Sunnis, but it will only benefit the enemies of freedom movement, he said and stressed on keeping unity and brotherhood.
Shah also advised the representatives of both communities to keep vigil on communal forces. Commenting over the Gool, Ramban incident, he alleged that BSF and Police murdered the people there and the so-called Chief Minister instead of acting against culprits and murderers is advocating on their behalf. He laimed that government has formulated Rs one lakh for one life and now under SRO Act, the family of victim will get Rs one lakh to put an end to issue.
It is the fate of subjugated nations that neither their lives nor their honor and dignity are secured under slavery. The price of their life and property has low value than cattle. Shah said when killing of wild animals is strictly banned in India but there is no ban or prohibition of killing innocent Muslims of Jammu Kashmir, he said.
The DFP Chairman strongly condemned the curbing of peoples protests against unjustified arrest of a shopkeeper at Palhallan. He warned if the force on masses and arrests are not stopped at earliest, the people from other areas of Valley will throng to Palhallan for their support.
Later on, Shah and his associates visited Pampore where they expressed solidarity with the Lone family over the sad demise of their mother. Shabir Shah spoke highly of the deceased and prayed for her heavenly abode.
Meanwhile, DFP spokesperson has said Shah along with his associates will offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Dargah Hazratbal.
