Srinagar: A woman from South Kashmirs Anantnag (Islamabad) district sustained severe burn injuries after she was allegedly set on fire by her in-laws at her Kokernag home on Friday.
Official sources said that Shubi Jan (25) wife of Bilal Ahmad of Takiya Magam, Kokernag was seriously injured after her in-laws allegedly set her on fire inside their home.
She was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment where doctors said the lady has suffered nearly 40 percent burns, sources said.
The doctors at the hospital performed tracheotomy upon her as she had had inflammation in the windpipe due to which she had complication in breathing.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and has started further investigations in this regard.
