Cong Demands Kamal’s Apology, Expulsion from NC

Jammu: Taking strong exception to the “indecent and abusive” utterances of Dr. Mustafa Kamal against Congress party and its leadership, several senior congress leaders have demanded an apology from the National Conference leadership and expulsion of Dr. Kamal from the party.

In a meeting chaired by veteran Congress leader, freedom fighter, ex-MLA and President District Congress Committee Jammu, Om Chopra, several Congressmen condemned Kamal for his anti-Congress tirade.

“Dr. Kamal keeps abusing the Congress party and its cadres. This appears to be a design to vitiate the atmosphere and destabilise the coalition, and malign the image of Congress party. Dr. Kamaal should know that his party is in power because of Congress support,” said Chopra.

“A person like Mustafa Kamal can never come out of his myopic and perverted thinking to understand the policies and history of the great party like Congress. Congress is a secular movement having history of more than 125 years of sacrifices,” he said.

Chopra, seconded by his partymen, demanded an “immediate” expulsion of Kamal from NC.

“If NC doesn’t take action against Kamal, the state Congress will approach party highcommand to review its relationship with our coalition partner,” said Chopra. The Congress workers requested its ministers in the coalition to stay away from the cabinet meetings until apology was offered.
