Srinagar: The recently constituted cabinet sub-committee to examine modalities for creation of new administrative units on Wednesday invited objections and suggestions from general public on the issue within 15 days.
Official sources told KNS that a meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand.
The meeting decided to invite objections/suggestions from the general public, which should reach the General Administrative Department within 15 days.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Minister for Agriculture Production, Minister for Higher Education, Minister for Planning and Development and Labour Employment and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Secretary GAD Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad was also present in the meeting.
Last Thursday, government had constituted the CSC to examine modalities for implementation of the Mushtaq Ganaie Committee Report on creation of new administrative units and to take on-board fresh demands on this account
