Srinagar: The J&K Yateem Trust distributed 600 dietary kits among identified, most deserving registered widow headed families in an impressive function in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Amira Kadal here.
The function was attended by respectable citizens. Each kit consisted of 50 kg of most superior quality of rice and all essential grocery items like tea leaves, chillies, edible oil, turmeric powder, etc. The cost of each dietary kit is Rs 2000.
The widow headed families of District Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal and Kupwara were covered under this programme. However, families belonging to Kupwara got the assistance at Kupwara. A total amount of Rs 12 lacs was spent on this programme. This was done so that the families can celebrate Eid festival with fervor alongwith other Muslims. An additional amount of Rs 500 was paid to each family.
