Srinagar: Pugwash Conference, which was scheduled to be held from August 17 to August 21 at Islamabad in Pakistan, has been postponed.
Sources said the conference would be now held from September 14 onwards at Islamabad. They said the participants were conveyed about the postponement by the organisers on Wednesday.
CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami who is one of the participant of the conference confirmed to KNS that he has been conveyed about the postponement of the conference by the organisers.
Pertinently, the global NGO Pugwash was scheduled to hold a conference to discuss Kashmir issue at Islamabad in Pakistan in August this year
In 2006, leaders from both separatist and mainstream camps, including then National Conference president and incumbent chief minister, Omar Abdullah, had participated in the conference held in Islamabad.
