Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani has urged Muslims of Budgam district to stop indulging in any kind of sectarian clashes. These clashes are being encouraged by the secret agencies to divert the attention of the people from the uprising against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Gool area, Geelani said.
Salahudin concerned: Expressing serious concern over the clashes between two sects of people in central Budgam district, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief Syed Salahudin on Thursday urged people to maintain calm and traditional harmony.
Agencies are hell bent on creating a wedge among Muslims as it weakens our freedom struggle, Salahudin was quoted as saying by Hizb spokesman, Salim Hashmi in a telephonic statement to KNS.
Salahudin also condemned the unfortunate incident and urged people to maintain calm, he said, adding, He also appealed Ulema and civil society members to play their role in maintaining traditional harmony. (KNS)
