Recover stolen goods including clothing
Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has worked out a number of cases involving theft of clothing worth lakhs of rupees and others items in Sopore town of north Kashmir in recent past.
An official said that police recovered stolen property during the investigation of a burglary case following arresting of two burglars.
During the investigation, other seven burglars who were involved in other burglary cases were also identified and arrest on their instance, the official said.
He said that during the intervening night of April 26 and 27, burglars broke into a textile shop M/s Wani Textiles at Chankhan and decamped with clothing merchandize worth lakhs of rupees. A case was registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation was started.
During the investigation, he said, police received a tip off regarding Irshad Ahmad Bhat son of Akbar Bhat of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore for being involved in burglaries. He was arrested and during his questioning, he confessed that he along with his associate Tariq Ahmad Naikoo son of Mohammad Ramzan of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore had broke into the shop and taken away the clothing from it.
The arrest of the duo led to the recovery of stolen property of the textile shop, he added.
During further questioning their involvement in other cases of theft and burglary was also surfaced and they identified other members of the burglary gang as Mohammad Saleem Sheikh alias Jaha son of Mohammad Shaban of Tarzoo, Aatif Aijaz Shah son of Aijaz Ahmad Shah of Syed Colony Tarzoo, Abdul Rashid Bhat son of Abdul Rehman Bhat of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore, Bashir Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Maqbool of Panzipora, Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar of Tarzoo, Bashir Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Ahmad of Krankshivan Village and Mohammad Rafiq Kana son of Late Mohammad Yousf resident of Sher Colony Sopore.
At their instances, he said, police was able to recover fifty cloth wedding suits, one hundred twenty copper utensils including Samavar, plates, Lemon Sets etc., two Computer Systems with accessories, three Gas cylinders, seven pairs of Shoes, Kiryana items including Edible Oil, Tea, Turmeric, Chili powder etc, one transformer and one motor from different raid in Sopore.
All the burglars have been arrested and five cases of burglaries were solved, for which case FIR Nos. 155/2012 under section 457, 380 RPC, 18/2013 under section 457, 380 RPC 20/2013 under section 457, 380 RPC, 30/2013 under section 457, 380 RPC & 43/2013 under section 457, 380 RPC stand registered in Police station Tarzoo.
