SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani Friday criticized government for imposing curfew in entire Kashmir Valley and parts of Jammu region, saying that there was no justification for it.
There was is justification for imposing curfew and curbs on offering Friday prayers. It is a blot on democracy, Geelani said.
On one said they claim that people are enjoying all freedom but on the other side they even do not allow people to offer Friday prayers, he said, adding, They are not even allowing people to mourn murder of their beloved brethren.
The octogenarian leader said preventing people from offering Friday prayers is interference with religious obligation of Muslims. It is a highly condemnable act, he added. (KNS)
