Srinagar: In the first ever RBI Quiz Competition organized at Srinagar on Tuesday Sadia Haneef and Falak Naz of Caset Experimental School, Karan Nagar succeeded in the Quarter Finals. After the win, they will now be competing in the Zonal Finals of RBIQ to be held at New Delhi in the month of August.
According to handout issued to Gobal News Service, Regional Director of RBI for J&K, KK Saraf while speaking on the occasion said the RBIQ was being organized with a view to create awareness and interest about the history and role of RBI.
It was aimed at creating awareness about banking, finance, other banking institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of the country over the years, Saraf said.
He said RBIQ is aimed at building a bridge between RBI and the young student community enrolled in schools across the country and achieve extensive dissemination of financial literacy. It will also be an opportunity for recognizing and encouraging bright young students on a national platform.
He also said that RBIQ is being held at 44 locations across the country and Srinagar has been chosen as one of the locations this year, while it was conducted at Jammu last year.
The Quiz was conducted by nationally renowned Quizmaster Gautam Bose. He asked many questions from the audience and gave away prizes to them for right answers.
The audience for the programme constituted, besides the participants, hundreds of students of the Government College for Women, MA Road. KK Saraf and Prof Shaheen Altaf gave away the prizes to the winners and all the quarter finalists at the conclusion of the Quiz.
Other dignitaries who attended the programme included Chairman and CEO, J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmad, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmed Shah and Principal, Govt. College for Women, MA Road, Srinagar, Prof Shaheen Altaf.
