SRINAGAR: Mumbai police today said Srinagar youth Parvez Ahmad Teli, whose death had sparked protests in his hometown, was killed in a train accident.
On 9th July, 2013, one person aged about 36 years was hit by Virar bound Down train. He was attempting to cross the track from East to West near KM pole number 9/6. The injured was immediately shifted to the KEM Hospital by Government Railway police (GRP) with the help of porters. He was declared dead on examination by the doctor, a Mumbai police officer said.
After conducting Panchnama body was sent for autopsy. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) No. 88/23 came to be registered at Mumbai Control Railway Police Station, investigation was immediately started.
Statements of motorman Ulhas Panditrao Nandurkar, Guard Mohammad Ansar Kasimali Sheikh have been recorded as they are the eyewitness, he said.
Statement of porters and GRP men who shifted him to the hospital have also been recorded alongwith other witness, Sahid Rahman and Firdous Ahmad Teli identified the body of deceased as of Parvez Ahmad Teli resident of Kalamdanpora Nawab Bazar, Srinagar.
Autopsy report has been received by the investigation officer (I/O) and report says the cause of death is Shock and Hemorrhage as a result of injuries to vital organs.
The investigation of the ADR reveals that Parvez Ahmad Teli died of injuries due to train accident.
