This is in reference to recent government decision to slash the rice quota to the consumers.
This is a really a disappointing decision of government. The politicians and bureaucrats at stake don’t know the grass root level position of Kashmir. They are like Tsar of Russian, who when complained about famine in the country, told to stop eating delicious foods.
At ground level there is poverty but the tragedy is that a kashmiris never shows it. What about those who don’t earn more than Rs. 3000/ a month particularly those in urban areas. Government never thinks about these people.
There are BPL facilities but as observed genuine BPL families rarely get that. Due to corrupt practices good earners get BPL ration cards. Other expenses are very high now. Our government is not treating people like the citizens of a welfare state. They talk high of development, but there is no regular power supply, there is deficiency of drinking water, in spite of so many schemes. poor are suffering. prices are rising, there is no control of quality and prices. Same vegetable has price variations within one kilometre. Nobody observes it. Our Ali Mohmad
