SRINAGAR A deputation of Bar Association, Anantnag led by its President F. A. Saudagar called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here on Tuesday and discussed various matters relating to the Bar and welfare of its Members.
The deputation brought to the notice of the Chief Minister the paucity of space in the District Court Complex, Anantnag and the difficulties faced by advocates for want of adequate chambers.
The deputation demanded transfer of vacant old police complex to the Judiciary so that the problem on account of space and accommodation is absolved to a greater extent.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the deputation and directed his Principal Secretary to get the matter examined so that the demand of Bar Association is considered appropriately.
The President and Members of the delegation extended invitation to the Chief Minister to visit Anantnag Bar and interact with its members. The President said that Anantnag Bar is third largest Bar in the State with over 450 members.
The Chief Minister thanked Bar Members for the invitation and accepted it. He said he will visit Anantnag Bar and meet with its Members there after the month of fast at some appropriate time.
