SRINAGAR: Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) led by Er Rasheed will be holding a peaceful protest on July 13th in Srinagar to pay tribute to the martyrs of 1931 and against the Sumbal killings.
Rasheed said that the party did not get permission for a peaceful march to the martyrs graveyard.
Lashing out at the state government for denying AIP the permission for a peaceful rally at the martyrs graveyard, Rashid said, NC, PDP and Congress go to martyrs graveyard every July 13 but the real owners of those martyrs are being denied of that right by putting them under curfew every year.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Er. Rashid said that AIP had applied for permission in the office of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar on July 04 for having a peaceful rally on martyrs day but on July 09 we were informed that we cant hold a rally. I have been informed that our party is not allowed to go to the martyrs graveyard for the peaceful meet. Again it is proven that the state has been turned into a police state and no one is being allowed to visit the graveyard on July 13 except the leaders of NC, PDP and Congress whose hands are dyed with the blood of our martyrs, Rashid said.
Reacting to the recent statement of Omar Abdullah for calling him an agent for Delhi Rasheed said, Its Omar who celebrates the day of Hari Singh every year to please New Delhi.
He added that Omar Abdullah should make it clear that who was right Hari Singh or the people of Kashmir who sacrificed their lives against the rule of Maharaja.
