SRINAGAR: While admitting that five of its cadres were killed in Keran sector of Kupwara district, Hizbul Mujahideen on Wednesday rejected the army claims that they were killed while crossing the Line of Control.
The claims by Indian army and its government that these (cadres) were killed while crossing the Line of Control are absolutely baseless, Hizb Commander Syed Salahudin was quoted as saying in a statement issued here.
While paying tributes to the slain cadres at the special meeting, Salahudin also said that the armed struggle will continue in Jammu and Kashmir.
The militant leadership, he said, has already elucidated that preference will be given to carrying operations in hinterland.
He also paid tributes to martyrs of July 13, 1931. The meeting, statement said, offered special prayers in favour of the martyrs.
