SRINAGAR: A bear killed a youth and injured another in the Kashmir valley, where the man-animal conflict has witnessed increase during the past few years.
Official sources said here today, a bear attacked and critically wounded a youth Ashiq Ahmad Sofi at village Chakla in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
However, he was immediately rushed to hospital by other villagers where he was declared brought dead.
The bear later escaped back into woods, they said.
In another similar bear attack, a teacher Talib Hussain was injured when a bear attacked him at Anderwan in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
He was immediately rushed to local hospital from where he was later referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in a critical condition.
They beast later escaped back into forest.
