SRINAGAR: Prof. Saifuddin Soz MP (Former Union Minister) & President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee visited Achan Saidapora, Ganderpora, Rathpora, Sekidafar , Alamgari Bazar, Chitgari Mohall, Wantpora, Sangam in Iddgah and Zadibal Constituencies (Srinagar) today.
At Achan he was accompanied by Commissioner SMC Dr. G. N. Qasba and other officers who explained to him the measures that the Corporation was taking to save the people from adverse effects of the Garbage Dump. Later he addressed a largely attended gathering of the people who had assembled at Achan to explain the difficulties that the people were facing due to a vast garbage dump which had created a very great trouble for the people.
Prof. Soz assured the people that he would sort out this problem with the Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Corporation of Srinagar and he would not rest till a workable solution to the problem would be found.
Later, he (Prof. Soz) visited the Shrine of Mir Shamus U Din Araki and assured the people that the shrine would be completed by the Department of Tourism as early as possible.
Finally at the end of the day Prof. Soz reached Sangam ( Iddgah Constituency) where he addressed a big rally and assured the people that their demands in respect of provision of drinking water, provision of play field and provision of Primary Health Centre would be fulfilled in near future.
He was accompanied by Abdul Gani Khan District President Shameema Raina Vice President Mahila Congress, Shameema Sopori, General Secretary Mahila Congress Dr. Syed Ahmad, Nissar Ahmad Khan, Imtiyaz Khan, Irfan Mattoo, Mehraj U Din and others.
