Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has felicitated Muslim Umah on advent of holy month of Ramzan and said being a month for steadfastness and compassion we should exhibit benevolence for poor and weaker sections of society during this month.
Geelani said Ramzan is best period that provides us supreme spiritual training and we should take maximum advantage to eradicate evils in the society.
Geelani said that it is foremost obligation for us to establish and shape a virtuous society based on high moral values and added that this target, neither can be accessed or achieved through delivering speeches nor fulfilled through formation of regulations.
Hurriyat Chairman said, adherence to Islamic rituals would pave way for formation of an ideal, perfect and dutiful society and in turn treat social and moral disorders that are posing threat to society. He said that fasting lists top in Islamic rituals and it is remarkable by its unique advantages and added that it has a positive impact over the human psyche and its moral aspects are unique.
Geelani said that according to modern medical science it is best treatment for many physical ailments. He said that Ramzan is a month of patience and compassion and motivates to serve those needy in society. It is responsibility for administration based on Islamic jurisprudence to collect alms and donation in terms of Zakat and distribute among people who deserve and added however, we are in the clutches of a despotic system and added that there exists no such concept to serve this deserving class. Geelani said that we have to share the responsibility and come to the rescue of the deserving class.
