Srinagar: Continuing with its food safety aw3areness week, SMC conducted various activities and events to promote the importance of food safety among food business operators and general public.
The Food Wing of Corporation under the supervision of Health Officer SMC Dr Rubeena conducted onspot registration mela, s in various areas including Lal Chowk,Dalgate, Nishat, Shalimmar, Zainakadal, Soura Buspora, Malbagh Illahi Bagh etc.
More than 250 FBOS were registered for the issuance of license and were brought under the ambit of FSSAI 2006.The awareness p[programs were launched in various schools including Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson girls school, Islamia Public School, Gojwara,k Green Valley Educational Institute Illahi Bagh and other schools of Srinagar City.
Dr Rubeena during these programs along with her Food Safety Officers held an interactive sessions with the students on various food safety tips and an inter school debates were conducted on the importance of food safety.
