Srinagar: In connection with July 13, 1931, which is observed as Martyrs Day here, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Political Party (PPP) Engineer Hilal Ahmad War has urged the people of Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on July 13.
According to Global News Service, Hilal Ahmad War while chairing a meeting at PPP headquarters Rajbagh, Srinagar, maintained that complete shutdown should be observed on this day and rich tributes must be paid to the martyrs of Kashmir who laid down their lives to banish the despotic and tyrant rule from their nation.
I appeal the freedom loving masses of Kashmir from the entire length and breadth of the valley to observe a complete shutdown and pay tributes to the pious martyrs of 1931, War in a statement issued to GNS said.
He said that the martyrs had offered their precious lives for the Kashmir cause. But the then leadership had made an inhuman sell-out of the martyrs blood and gave up their ideology in 1975.
Chairman PPP said the mainstream political parties have no moral right to observe the martyrs day on July 13 as they had already made a sell-out of the martyrs blood in lieu of power. Observing July 13 as martyrs day by the mainstream parties particularly by those who have disbanded the Plebiscite Front is nothing but exploitation of the freedom loving people and desecration of the blood of martyrs.
Engineer War while calling such leaders as agents of New Delhi asked them to not shed crocodile tears for the Kashmir martyrs whose coffins they had sold out to New Delhi. He urged all freedom loving people to observe the day as due and pay their glowing tributes to the pious martyrs.
