Srinagar: Sate Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has taken a suo moto cognizance of the killing of two innocent youth by Army at Markundal and has sought reports from Director General of Police and Deputy Commissioner Bandipora.
SHRC has termed the killing of the two youth as grave human rights violations and has also directed the fathers of slain youth, Ghulam Nabi Ganaie resident of Markundal and Ghulam Qadir Leharwal resident of Kondabal Mansbal to appear before the Commission and record their correct statements.
The Commission comprised of single bench have said that the incidents amount to human rights violations and therefore, a suo moto cognizance regarding the incidents in which two youth have lost their lives is hereby taken.
