Khurshid to Inaugurate Intl Confab at KU

SRINAGAR: The Centre of Central Asian Studies (CCAS), University of Kashmir, Srinagar, and Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID), Chandigarh, are jointly holding an International Conference on Cooperative Development, Peace and Security in Central Asia: Challenges and Prospects .from 29th June 2013 to 1st July 2013.

Salman Khurshid, Union Minister for External Affairs, Government of India , is inaugurating the conference at 9:30 a.m. on 29th June 2013 at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir. Mr Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir, will deliver a special address.

Mr N. N. Vohra, Governor, Jammu & Kashmir, is presiding over the Inaugural Session. The Valedictory Address on 1st July 2013 is being delivered by Mr Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Giving details Dr. Tareak A. Rather Coordinator Conferences ccas said the interdisciplinary International Conference is being attended by the delegates from all over the world is organized to facilitate contemporary dialogue on this vital and significant region of Asia, the central asian region.

The purpose of this International Conference , said Prof. Aijaz A. Bandey Direcor CCAS is to pool our resources in the form of information, Knowledge and experience to develop a long term perspective , vision of Cooperative Development, Peace and Security in Central Asia with a special focus on Challenges and Prospects.

The Conference is expected to facilitate the academic discourses and dialogue of the researchers, policy planners and other stake holders. It promises to be an exciting event with paper presentations, discussions and interactive sessions which, hopefully, will pave way for further strengthening participatory and regional cooperation.
